Direct Recruitment of Constable (General Duty) through MPESB Selection Test 2026
| Short Information |
| Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters (Home Police Department) has invited online applications from male and female candidates for 7500 Constable (GD) posts: 700 in Special Armed Force (SAF, male only) and 6800 in other cadres. The selection test is conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB), Bhopal. Applications opened on 22 September 2026 and close on 06 October 2026. The online exam starts from 19 November 2026. |
Revised Rule Book Note
- The revised first page of the rule book makes live registration in the Madhya Pradesh State Employment Office compulsory for all candidates of these posts.
- Aadhaar registration is also compulsory.

Application Fee
- Board exam fee: Unreserved ₹500/- | MP-domicile SC / ST / OBC / EWS ₹250/-
- Departmental exam fee (collected by the Board for Police Department): Unreserved ₹200/- | MP-domicile SC / ST / OBC / EWS ₹100/-
- MP Online portal fee: ₹60/- through a kiosk, ₹20/- through a registered citizen user login.
- Each correction: ₹20/- fee + ₹40/- portal fee.

- Reservation: SC 16%, ST 20%, OBC 27%, EWS 10%. Horizontal reservation: Ex-Servicemen 10%, Home Guard 15% and Women 35% (excluding SAF). The full category-wise table is in the rule book.
- Candidates who are not permanent residents (domicile) of Madhya Pradesh can apply only under the Unreserved Open category and get no reservation or age relaxation.
- The number of posts may increase or decrease.

Chest must expand by at least 5 cm. No relaxation in physical standards. Vision must be at least 6/9 and 6/12 without glasses, with normal colour vision. Knock-knee and flat foot are not allowed. Medical test is done by the District Medical Board.

- Candidates equal to 7 times the vertical-category vacancies, based on the cut-off percentile, are called for the Physical Efficiency Test.
- Final selection is based on the written test score (normalised) plus Physical Efficiency Test marks. Minimum 30 out of 100 marks are needed in the Physical Efficiency Test.
- Selected candidates are posted outside their home district and must serve at least 5 years in the allotted unit.

Tentative Exam Cities
Anuppur, Badwani, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Khandwa, Neemuch, Ratlam, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Sidhi and Ujjain. Candidates give four city preferences in the form. The Board may change the city or centre, and no change requests are entertained.
How to Apply for MP Police Constable Recruitment 2026
- Check your eligibility and keep your Aadhaar and MP Employment Office live registration ready.
- Apply online through the MP Online portal (mponline.gov.in), by a registered user login or at an MP Online kiosk.
- Fill in the details, choose your cadre preference (SAF or other cadres), district preference and four exam cities.
- Upload a scanned image with your colour photo (top), signature (below) and your own handwritten declaration.
- Pay the exam fee and portal fee, then submit. Note down the application number.
- Use the correction window (till 11.10.2026) if any detail needs to be changed. Mobile number, email ID and application numbers cannot be changed.
Photo: recent colour photo (not older than 3 months) on a white background, facing front with both ears visible, with the date and name written on it. Documents needed later: date of birth proof (Class 8 / 10 / 12 marksheet), education certificates, caste / category and domicile certificate, and other certificates as applicable.
Important Instructions
- Carry the admit card and an original photo ID (Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence or Passport). Aadhaar biometric verification is done at entry and during the exam, so your Aadhaar must be unlocked.
- Entry is allowed only until the reporting time. Mobile phones, calculators, digital watches, sunglasses and chits are banned.
- Take a black ball point pen. You cannot leave the exam room once the exam starts.
- Your eligibility in the written test is provisional. Certificates are verified by the Police Department later.
- SC / ST / OBC candidates of MP get actual travel fare for the written test and physical test.
